CGL 2025 Post-Auction Instructions!

Thank you all SO much for participating in and/or supporting the CGL 2025 Online Charity Auction, 100% to benefit the Lymphoma Research Foundation! Winning bidders, very important post-auction instructions are for you below.

Post-Auction and Payment Details

AFTER AUCTION CLOSES

After the 2025 CGL Charity Auction ends and if you’ve won an item or items, CGL will email you an invoice within 24 hours that includes detailed instructions and CGL’s specific payment link! Please do NOT attempt to make a payment anywhere before you receive your CGL invoice. {Also, please never attempt to make a payment for a CGL auction item on the external auction host site iCollector OR via the PayPal app/site; CGL and FJC will never see or receive that money.}

AFTER You Receive Your CGL Invoice (within 24 hours of auction close)

  1. Make Your Auction Payment (Donation via FJC to CGL)

The only acceptable method of payment for CGL auction items is PayPal, which must be made directly to the CGL PayPal account using the Donate link on this website (which directs winning bidders to the ONLY CGL PayPal account, managed by CGL’s fiscal sponsor FJC, A Foundation of Philanthropic Funds). This exact link will be provided in your auction invoice.

If you don’t have a PayPal account, you will be able to pay for your auction items using a credit card via PayPal!

*When you click on the Donate button on this site above, a window/page will open that says “Donate to FJC - A Foundation of Philanthropic Funds (Cancer Gets LOST).” That is the correct and only location to pay for CGL auction items!

**Payment for the auction items you win is expected in full within 7 calendar days of the day you receive an email invoice from CGL.

2. Forward CGL your PayPal Receipt!

Because CGL does not have access to the PayPal account, I kindly ask that after you make your CGL 2025 Charity Auction payment, you please forward a copy of your FJC PayPal receipt to CGLauctions at gmail dot com!

AND please let me know if the name on your PayPal account is NOT your real or full name (i.e. a nickname or name of business)! FJC sends me a report of payments but requires that they match the REAL FULL NAMES of winning bidders (for tax receipt purposes)!

3. Shipping AND Mailing Addresses Too Please!

After you've paid your invoice for items won in the 2025 CGL charity auction and when you forward your PayPal receipt: PLEASE also provide CGL with both your shipping AND mailing addresses! CGL needs your shipping address for auction items, and FJC needs your mailing address for tax receipt purposes.

Make sure to double-check the SHIPPING ADDRESS on your invoice. Email CGL if there are any corrections!

Realistic CGL Shipping Timeline

CGL’s fiscal sponsor FJC has to verify and process payments from all winning bidders before I can start packaging and shipping out items. In order to avoid fraud, which sadly has been an issue for CGL in the past, they take extra time to confirm absolutely every aspect of each winning bidder’s payment information.

Shipping will start in mid-September. I am quite literally a party of one, responsible for the packaging, labels, and shipping of over 130 auction items!  (Not complaining; just an FYI!)

And just a heads up that no matter where you live, people are still experiencing longer-than-usual shipping delays from all shipping carriers due to events/reasons that are out of my control, so I really appreciate your patience.

SHIPPING Logistics

  • ALL CGL auction packages will be trackable and insured. I will email you your tracking number(s) once your items are packaged and ready to ship.

  • Most small to medium packages, boxes and small flats (photos, small prints, etc.) will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail, unless the winning bid of all combined items is over $500. If so, they will be shipped via UPS Ground.

  • All scripts and most high value auction items/packages with winning bids over $500 will require an adult signature upon delivery. That is an added expense that CGL covers for you!

  • If you win more than one item, I will try to combine them together in one package. The exception is posters, which will ship separately in poster tubes.

  • When possible, posters will be placed inside of poster tubes, and then inside of cardboard poster boxes. I prefer double protection because of too many damaged and destroyed irreplaceable posters and prints in auctions past. The only exceptions will be the few oversized posters, which will ship in extended sized poster tubes only.

  • With the environment in mind, CGL ships out auction items in primarily repurposed/used boxes. While the outside of your packages may not always be perfect, it’s what’s inside that counts!

  • IF you live within an hour of the Boston MA area, I can arrange an auction item drop off in person in late September/early October! Let me know if you’re interested. OR! If you’re attending either NYCC in October or Rhode Island Comic Con in November, let me know ASAP – because if your auction items are on the smaller side, I can bring them to you in person!

  • Each auction item will be accompanied by a CGL CoA (Certificate of Authenticity).

Shipping Insurance & Irreplaceable Auction Items

As you know, almost all CGL auction items are either rare or 1-of-a-kind. Some are absolutely irreplaceable. There is always a risk that a package might get lost or damaged in transit (which is entirely out of my control). If that happens to your auction item, CGL will have to reimburse you for your donation. Which means that CGL has to then subtract that amount from the grand total donated to the Lymphoma Research Foundation. So, I package everything up as securely as I can and hope for the best after items are shipped out! 99.5% of the time, CGL auction packages arrive in perfect condition, as intended. :)

In addition, although each auction package will be insured, if something happens to it – the carriers only ever reimburse CGL for a tiny portion of its value. Sadly, CGL has never recouped the entire cost of a package that was damaged in transit.

Tax Receipts

If you win an item in the 2025 Cancer Gets Lost Online Charity Auction AND the difference between your winning bid amount and the starting bid of the auction item is over $250: you will receive a tax receipt from CGL’s fiscal sponsor FJC. For example, if your winning bid is $300 and the starting price was $10, you’ll receive a tax receipt for $290. Please note: FJC mails out tax receipts to the billing address you provide me with, usually 2-3 months after the auction ends.

We Have to Give Back!

After all winning bidder payments have been verified by FJC (CGL’s fiscal sponsor) AND all auction packages have been received, 100% of the proceeds from the 2025 Cancer Gets Lost Online Charity Auction will be donated to the Lymphoma Research Foundation! This usually occurs 2 months after the auction has ended. I will share the total amount of money to be donated once that amount has been finalized!

If you weren’t able to participate or weren’t necessarily interested in the CGL online charity auction but would like to kindly make a small donation to the LRF, CGL appreciates your consideration! You can either donate via their site directly or via CGL’s Donate button above on this site, and 100% of your contribution will be included in the final post-auction donation to the LRF (if you donate any amount between now and December of 2025 AND forward CGL your receipt)!

Thank you for your tremendously kind support of CGL and the Lymphoma Research Foundation! Your contributions will make an actual, impactful difference in the lives of blood cancer survivors and their families and help fund further essential cancer research.

You have my deepest gratitude, as this particular auction and fundraising for the LRF means the world to me and my family.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions! (CancerGetsLost at gmail dot com)

Cheers!
