CGL Fundraising &

Donation History

Full disclosure: Cancer Gets Lost does not keep any proceeds from CGL charity auctions; 100% of all money raised in each auction is donated to a designated cancer charity. I (Jo) fund Cancer Gets LOST myself and manage every aspect unsalaried, as a full time volunteer. CGL’s fundraising charity auctions are an absolute labor of love!

FJC* oversees all of the financials for CGL, including the PayPal account.

{*CGL has non-profit, tax exempt status thanks to a fiscal sponsorship by FJC: A Foundation of Philanthropic Funds. FJC is a public charity that provides management of charitable giving. FJC’s Fiscal Sponsorship Program (FSP) assists organizations like ours that have not yet received their 501(c)(3) determination from the IRS. The FSP enables FJC to serve as the fiscal sponsor for CGL, as we are too small to be fiscally viable to exist as an independent organization. Through the FSP, CGL receives FJC’s expertise and operates under their tax-exempt umbrella.}

As of now, since the first auction in 2012: CGL has raised and then donated more than $535,000 to a wide variety of cancer charities!

CGL’s mission has always been to make an impactful difference in the lives of cancer patients (and their families) by raising significant amounts of money for various cancer charities every year via live and online auctions of pop culture collectibles. This endeavor has been a massive success from the beginning, thanks to the collective kindness of fans and TV & film cast/crew/creatives, because all auction items are donated!
